Telemedicine Department

MAFCC’s telemedicine department helps Missouri patients access free, clinician-led consultations and trustworthy education about common medications and treatment options. Telemedicine is built for safe decision-making: we listen to your concerns, review your health history, and explain appropriate next steps—sometimes that means self-care guidance, sometimes a follow-up at a member clinic, and sometimes a clinician may recommend a prescription only after evaluation.

We strictly do not sell medications

Our website is not an online pharmacy. We do not sell prescription drugs, do not ship medications, and do not provide “instant” prescriptions. Any prescription decision requires a licensed clinician to evaluate your symptoms, medical history, allergies, and current medications. This protects patients from unsafe use, drug interactions, and inappropriate treatment.

If a medication is discussed, the goal is education and safety: what it is used for, what questions to ask, what side effects matter, and when in-person care is necessary. We also encourage patients to use licensed pharmacies and to avoid unverified sources.

Free consultations with our doctors

Volunteer physicians support telemedicine consultations at no cost. During a telemedicine visit, clinicians may review your symptoms, discuss your goals, and help you understand which options are safest. If your concern requires a physical exam, lab work, imaging, or close follow-up, we help coordinate care through Missouri’s network of free and charitable clinics.

About our product education pages

Our medication guides are written to help patients prepare for a clinician conversation. They explain how a medication works in plain language, typical clinical use-cases, general dosage concepts, and key safety points. The guides do not replace medical advice. They are designed to reduce confusion and support better outcomes by improving health literacy.

How to use medications safely and what “quality” means

Safe medication use depends on the right drug, the right dose, the right timing, and the right monitoring—tailored to a specific person. During a consultation, clinicians may explain how to take a medicine, what to avoid (for example, alcohol or certain drug combinations), and which symptoms should prompt urgent care. Medication “quality” also means using regulated supply chains, appropriate storage, checking expiration dates, and verifying labeling.

If you are unsure about a medication, bring the name, strength, and instructions to your visit. We can help you understand directions and discuss safer alternatives when appropriate.
